Laal Kabootar’s Producers Speak Out on Partnership with Geo and Pakistan Day Release

Kamal Khan’s Laal Kabootar is shaping up to be the season’s most awaited project. Starring Ahmed Ali Akbar and Mansha Pasha as leads, the movie is an urban thriller shot in Karachi. Its trailer has received much praise from critics and audience alike, and the tagline “Aik chor hi chor ko dhoondta hai” has the audience curious.

The team behind the film has partnered with Geo television to be its “Official channel partner”. Geo has previously been the media partner for hit projects like “Teefa in Trouble” “Load Wedding” and “The Donkey King” last year. The channel has the required media strength to market “Laal Kabootar” to a wide audience, and we are hopeful that they will not leave any stone unturned to ensure that the film achieves wide awareness in the market prior to its release on Pakistan Day, March 22.

The movie will be releasing alongside ARY’s “Sherdil.” The Pakistan day weekend is shaping up to be a big one for Pakistani cinema, and both the films have a unique flavor and belong to different genres.

PakistaniCinema got in touch with Laal Kabootar’s producers, Hania and KamilChima to talk about their upcoming project.

When asked about how she feels about their film’s partnership with Geo, Hania said “As a film we are really proud to be partnering with Geo as our Official Channel Partner. This raises the scale of Laal Kabootar. With films like Teefa in Trouble, and Donkey King under their umbrella Geo has the recipe for success, and we are thrilled to be associated with them”.

The team is clearly excited to be releasing the film on Pakistan day. When asked about how he feels about the project’s release date, Kamil stated “It’s great. It means that 23rd March will be an event for cine-goers, pulling large audiences to the cinemas. It will be a great way to prove to the world that Pakistan does not need to rely on any other industry to sustain our revival of cinema.”

“Laal Kabootar will add the authentic Pakistani flavour to the mix of films coming out this Pakistan day, and show to Pakistanis that we can make world class cinema in any genre we choose.”

Well we are hopeful that the movie does brisk business at the box office. Here’s wishing the “Laal Kabootar” team all the best!!
