Cinemas set to Return to Life with Local and International Releases this Eid

After a long, virtual slumber in Ramzan, Pakistani cinemas are set for a rejuvenation this Eid. A total of five films are hitting the theater as soon as Eid begins and each one is likely to pull in audiences.

Pakistani Releases

Local cinema has been bereft of many commercial successes this year apart from “Sher Dil”. However, that’s about to change with the release of Wajahat Rauf’s “Chhalawa” and Yasir Nawaz’s “Wrong No. 2”. Both films have a pure commercial appeal and their respective teams have been successful crowd pullers over their careers.

International Releases

Children can enjoy “The Secret Life of Pets 2” and the live action remake of Disney’s “Aladdin” this Eid. While the latter may pull more kids in, the former also stands to entertain families.

Adults and teenagers can satisfy their appetite for blockbuster magic with “Godzilla: King of the Monsters”, the sequel to 2014’s “Godzilla”. The film is part of the MonsterVerse which also features “Kong: Skull Island”.

Another international release will follow the week after Eid; “X-Men: Dark Phoenix”. It’s essentially a retelling of “X-Men 3: The Last Stand”, which is generally considered to be an inferior and botched sequel to the first two excellent X-Men movies.
Eid seems to be packed to the brim with choices.

You can book your tickets for each of these films now at various cinemas across the country.
