The Latest Song ‘Ik Tu’ from “Baaji” Fails to Impress

Pakistan has always been acclaimed for its rich history of singers and melody as music  gives language to the sentiments but Saqib Malik’s film Baaji seems like struggling with its music after the first two releases.

Khilti Kali’ by Zeb Bangash and Taha Malik made us more excited about the music of the movie and it was counted on to give some more legit shots to hit the mark and right then ‘Badlaa’n’ came out and the soft melody along with the lively visuals touched millions of hearts, taking the expectations to a whole new level. And then we saw a major plunge when Mehwish Hayat’s presence in ‘Gangster Guriya’ helped to create the buzz instead of the song itself.

Now another release from film’s music palette, ‘Ik Tu’ seems more off track. The song has been directed so well that one can’t resist praising the scenes, the filmi aura and the chemistry between Osman Khalid Butt and Meera, but how could one bear the injustice done to the music in the background?

Song is sung by Zeb Bangash and Saad Sultan and the vocals sound so dull and tedious that they don’t even match the energy of such aesthetic visuals. We could thank the team for this amazing visual treat  but cannot let go the flat audio. And to release this song right before film’s release is definitely not an intelligent move, specially when they have better songs like ‘Yeh Aaj Mujhko’ and ‘Shaam Nasheeli’ in stock.
