Box Office: ‘Baaji’ Scores the Highest Second Weekend of the Year

ARY Film’s release “Baaji” has been showing a good hold at the box office since its release on June 28. The film was released on a regular Friday, that too during the ICC world cup. Nonetheless, the film has been fighting off all these odds despite a genre that attracts only a niche audience. Due to the bold outlook of the film’s trailer and a few of its songs, the film was anticipated to not attract the family audience, however, much to our surprise, “Baaji” has been bringing more female audiences than any recent release over the weekdays and second weekend, as per exhibitors.

Daily Breakdown

The Meera Jee and Amna Ilyas starrer has raked in 1.8 crore over its second weekend, which is so far the highest second weekend of the year scored by any Pakistani film, leaving behind the second weekend numbers of films like “Sherdil”, “Wrong No. 2” and “Chhalawa”. As per Entertainment Pakistan, the estimated daily box office breakdown is as follows:

Week One: 4.5 crore
2nd Friday: 43 lacs
2nd Saturday: 75 lacs
2nd Sunday: 62 lacs
Total: 6.3 crores pkr
