“Zindagi Tamasha” Gets the Green Light from Censor Board; Gets Release Date

As soon as its trailer dropped, it was evident that Sarmad Khoosat’s “Zindagi Tamasha” was going to court controversy.

PakistaniCinema.Net even pointed out that it was treading dangerous waters, in its review for the trailer. Just a few days ago news began circulating that the film had been called by the censor board and its trailer was even removed from YouTube. However, “Zindagi Tamasha” has come out of that controversy relatively unscathed. While a few cuts were made, Sarmad Khoosat is happy with the way his film will be showed to the masses. He said as much in a live broadcast on YouTube.

In his address, he announced that the film had been cleared by the censor board and that the controversy generated was never his intent. In fact, he removed the trailer from YouTube so that any misgivings people would have regarding it would be put to rest. He pointed out that he never made the film to vent against anyone or anything. It’s just that the nature of trailers is to summarize the film in a few minutes and a few seconds and how a few moments can be interpreted several different ways.

The best part about he broadcast is that Sarmad Khoosat announced that “Zindagi Tamasha” would be released on January the 24th, 2020.

We urge our readers to go watch this film as products like these don’t get made very often in Pakistan. When the fact is that thought provoking cinema should be the norm in a fledgling film industry.

Catch “Zindagi Tamasha” in theaters on 24th of January. It releases nationwide by Distribution Club.
