UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on his four day visit to Pakistan recently met Mahira Khan. Guterres was here to be part of international press conference titled 40 years of Afghan Refugees Presence in Pakistan: A New Partnership for Solidarity, where he lauded Pakistan for being “the world’s second largest refugee-hosting country.”
“It was a pleasure to meet Mahira” wrote Guterres on his twitter handle after the meeting ,”I thank her and all Pakistanis for their extraordinary support.”Replying to which Mahira Khan reiterated her and Pakistan’s commitment towards more work towards the cause.

Mahira has been recently active as Goodwill Ambassador with UN refugee Agency. She had visited Peshawar last year as part of a high profile UN delegation and joined Hollywood celebs in a message about refugee issue recently.
