Shoaib Mansoor’s Dua-e-Reem Staring Mahira Khan Is Lighthearted Yet Powerful

Mahira Khan and Shoaib Mansoor’s power duo is back in action this time with video song “Dua-e-Reem” (prayer of a women). The video of the song was released online recently.

The song molds Allama Iqbal’s iconic poem “Lab py aati hai dua” to feature prayer of a women, about to get married. It challenges conventional responsibilities ascribed with a wife towards her husband in our society. Unlike Shoaib ‘s other recent projects “Dua-e-Reem” is lighthearted yet powerful. It makes a strong statement regarding women’s empowerment through satire.

Mahira Khan looks ethereal in the song and delivers a convincing performance. The song is directed and written by Shoaib Mansoor whereas Damiah Farooq and Mehak Ali have lent their voices to the song.
