“The Legend of Maula Jatt”s Trailer Creates Waves in Bollywood

21st December 2018 was a big day for all Pakistanis, a proud moment when the world was introduced to the upcoming movie “The Legend of Maula Jatt” through a first look trailer.

This Bilal Lashari Directorial is a big budgeted multi starrer that has been in talks for quite some time. The film stars some of the country’s top ranked stars including Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humima Malik and the most loved onscreen pair of Fawad and Mahira Khan.

The 2 minute and 22 second long teaser soon went viral on multiple social media platforms gaining positive response from industry and audience alike.

What’s more pleasant to see is that owing to the popularity of Fawad and Mahira, the trailer was very well received and appreciated across the border as well. A steady stream of tweets from Bollywood A listers have poured in, adding only to the excitement. Many big names of Bollywood including the likes of Karan Johar, Rahul Dholakia, Alia Bhatt, Anurag Kayshap, Sonam Kapoor and many others appreciated the trailer.

Karan Johar who directed Fawad in his Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was all in praises for the trailer.

Rahul dholakia, the director of Mahira Khan’s bollywood debut Raees, couldnt hide his anticipation, saying “Picture Dikhao Jaldi”

 

Siddharth Malhotra tweeted about being a big fan of Fawad & Mahira and how the addition of Hamza and Humaima has simply elevated the excitement level.

 

The acclaimed director Anurag Kayshap, known for his own dark brand of filmmaking also tweeted on this come back of sub-continent’s iconic character Maula Jatt

 

Sonam Kapoor also came up to show support for her Khoobsurat co star

 

And same did Fawad’s Kapoor and Sons co-star Alia Bhatt 

 

And if you think that Bollywood has remembered Fawad and Mahira only then Ekta Kapoor has proved you wrong by showing her love for Humaima Malick

The film is all set to release on Eid next year in Pakistan and China simultaneously. We don’t know yet if the makers are planning to release the film in India or not but taking in account the praise and love from the neighboring country, it would be interesting to see how it might perform on the Indian box office.
