“Zindagi Tamasha” Wins Big at Busan International Film Festival

Sarmad Sultan Khoosat’s film “Zindagi Tamasha” (Circus of Life” recently stayed in headlines, firstly for its intriguing trailer and then for the news of film’s screening at the prestigious Busan International film festival.

The latest update is that “Zindagi Tamasha” won Kim Ji-Seok Award at Busan international film festival, Variety reports. The award being named after the festival’s co-founder and executive programmer who died in 2017. “Zindagi Tamasha” shares the award with “Market” (India).

By doing so “Zindagi Tamasha” becomes first Pakistani film to win an award at Busan film festival. Earlier this year, Pakistani documentary feature “Darling” also won award at Venice film festival and “Laal Kabootar” too had won a number of accolades at various international festivals. Hence, 2019 is proving to be a defining year for Pakistani cinema, globally.

“Zindagi Tamasha” stars Arif Hasan, Samiya Mumtaz, Eman Suleman and Ali Kureshi in major roles. Film is expected to release in January,2020 by Distribution Club.
