While the yearning for the divine still persists and is experienced to various extents by each of us, the experiences of the sufi souls have been limited only to historical references in modern times. The Sufi Records, a newly launched music label, aims at changing that by intending to deepen people’s relationship with Creator and spreading the love for our dear Nabi Paak (SAW) and his noble family Ahl-e-Bayt. The label will be producing original compositions and kalams, which is a rare these days.
“Salam”, sung by Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, is the first kalam from The Sufi Records. Derived from the central idea of Durood and Salam which are recited in every prayer 5 times a day, the kalam reminds one of the incredible qualities of our Messenger (SAW) such as justice, and the love of his people while also paying tribute to the Ahl-e-Bait. The lyrics of the Kalam are immersed in the deep reverence and yearning of Nabi Paak (SAW) and are bound to transport you elsewhere. It’s a treat for the ears as it is for the soul.
The kalam is authored by Waqar Faiz, the driving force behind the existence of The Sufi Records, a man said to have carried an immense love for the prophet and Ahl-e-Bait over the years and his poetry in ‘’Salam’’ is very much a testament to that. Waqar Faiz, currently residing in the United States, is a continual source and spring for spirituality to people from all walks of life, faith, and ethnicities. He now aims to instill this love in the hearts of the audience to bring peace to them and to give an individual an opportunity to be intimate with the creator. Through the platform we are bound to get a contemporary experience of Sufism through Waqar Faiz himself and to benefit from the connection he has held with the divine over the years.
With ‘’Salam’’ as an opener, The Sufi Records promises a spiritual Sufi experience like never before and we just cannot wait for more to come from the label in upcoming days.
