BOX OFFICE: “TLOMJ” Rock Steady in Fourth Week; Continues Shattering Records

“The Legend of Maula Jatt” has been ruling the box office since its release. The film has entered into fourth week of its successful run and it is still continuing the record shattering streak, both in Pakistan as well as in overseas. In Pakistan film has shattered almost every record for any Urdu/Hindi/Punjabi film. Had it gotten a simultaneous release on Cinepax, Nueplex, Cinestar and Bahria Town cinemas, it would have even broken the biggest opening records of Hollywood biggies like “Avengers: End Game” in Pakistan. Let’s have a look at how the film has been performing on its fourth weekend:

FRIDAY

The Fawad Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi starrer had raked in 53.01 crore PKR approximately from Pakistan in first three weeks. On Friday, the film collected a solid 2.18 crore PKR, taking the 23 days total to tally at 55.21 crore PKR, surpassing the lifetime business of previously highest grossing film in Pakistan, “Jawani Phir Nahi Aani 2” (53.75 crore PKR), and claiming the title of highest grossing film in Pakistan ever (in terms of PKR).

In UK, Film brought in solid £24,000 on its fourth Friday which is more than double the combined 1st Friday collections of three newly released Bollywood films; “Phone Bhoot” (£8,000) , “Mili” (£5,000) and “Double XL” (£500).

SATURDAY

On its fourth Saturday, the Bilal Lashari directed has minted 3.53 crore PKR, with a drop of only 12% compared to its third Saturday (4.01 crore PKR). Film’s total gross till Saturday now stands at 58.74 crore PKR.

In UK, film has surpassed the lifetime collections of Kannada blockbuster “KGF- Chapter 2” (£1.147 Million) on Saturday by collecting £36K. With a total of £1.170 Million in 24 days, “The Legend of Maula Jatt” has now become the second highest grossing South Asian film of the year in UK, only after the Tamil film “Ponniyin Selvan: I” (£1.3 Million)

SUNDAY

On its fourth Sunday (Today), the film will cross 60 crore PKR benchmark in Pakistan, becoming the first film to achieve this milestone at Pakistani box office. Film should be able to cross the 65 crore mark before the end of fourth week.
