See Prime’s anthology film released in theatres this Eid-ul-Azha in Pakistan and some major overseas markets. The anthology films mostly don’t work in cinemas so the film was never expected to take some record-shattering opening at box office. The film was released in Pakistan with a decent promotional campaign but overseas was neglected altogether. And the box office results are reflecting the same pattern.
As per film’s official page, it is claimed to have grossed 5 crore PKR from Pakistan over the extended four day Eid weekend. While nothing can be said about the reliability of these numbers, the actual numbers are believed to be around the same digits as the film remained first choice of cinegoers during Eid holidays in Sindh and Rawalpindi/Islamabad while in Punjab it was affected by ‘Carry On Jatta 3’.
In overseas, film has grossed £26,000 (90 lac PKR) approximately from UK over the first weekend. The numbers, though not significant, are comparable to that of ‘Money Back Guarantee’ that despite having Fawad Khan in it managed a first weekend of only £29,000.
In UAE, the anthology film from Pakistan grossed only $11,856 (32 lacs PKR) over the first weekend. The film has collected a total of 1.2 crore PKR from UK and UAE. Numbers from North America, Norway, Denmark and rest of GCC are awaited.
