Kiran Malik: The Antagonist in ‘Jaisay Aapki Marzi’ We Just Can’t Hate!

A protagonist without an antagonist is incomplete. While watching a drama, we usually have the knack of rooting for the ‘hero and heroine’. However, there have been several times where the antagonist has grabbed viewers’ attention more than the protagonist. This is a testimony of a great actor, with the potential to portray a character with conviction and manage to steal all the limelight.

It requires guts to take the road less traveled, break glass ceiling and emerge victorious. Yes, we are talking about the Oh-So stunning Kiran Malik making us go gaga with her debut drama ‘Jaisay Apki Marzi’. Dominating the prime time slot, Malik’s stellar act as ‘Natasha’ is deliciously vicious, garnering praise left right and center.

Note: The readers who aren’t following the drama can read our review to have an inkling about the premise.

Okay, so, where should we start? Malik impresses from the first scene itself. The way she imbibes the demeanor of a rich spoiled brat willing to go to any length to prove her supremacy is simply class apart. Her dark and intriguing conversations with Shehreyar (Mikaal Zulfiqar) are the mainstay of the enterprise. Her body language, postures, and gestures make you sit up and take notice once she enters every frame. She brings her fashion A-game in edgy outfits, she looks a million bucks carrying herself with poise and panache.

Writer (Naila Zehra Jafri) reserves the best line for ‘Natasha’, it’s great to see how she understands the part so well without going overboard. Credit here should also be given to the director (Saba Hameed) for investing faith in a relatively new actor for a pivotal part of the enterprise. As brilliant as the leading lady Alizeh (Dur-e-Fishan Saleem) is in the play, she gets completely overshadowed by Malik. Her performance stays with your memory even after the episode is concluded.

To sum it up, we are super impressed by Kiran Malik’s TV debut. Her acts as the badass girl in ‘Jaisay Aapki Marzi’ is so endearing that it’s difficult to hate her. We are totally rooting for lots of firework in the upcoming episodes.
