Over the years Imran Ashraf has proved himself as a classic performer. His early breakthroughs, notable acts and smashing hits have mostly been with HUM TV. Let’s recap in chronological order, from ‘Alif Allah Aur Insaan’, ‘Ranjha Ranjha Kardi’, ‘Jaa’l, ‘Inkaar’, ‘Mushk’ to ‘Raqs-e-Bismil’, all the above projects showcased his talent to the fullest. Ashraf teams up with HUM TV yet again with ‘Namak Haram’.
Interestingly he shares the screen again with his ‘Raqs-e-Bismil’ co-star Sarah Khan. The initial teasers of this gripping tale of power and betrayal have managed to create a buzz. Before we move on, you need to have first-hand information about the drama. ‘Namak Haram’ is written by Saqlain Abbas, directed by Shaqielle Khan and also features Babar Ali and Sunita Marshall in important roles.
The Intriguing Teasers
The teaser introduces the protagonist ‘Mureed’ (Imran Ashraf), a loyal caretaker to his ruthless boss Amin Qureshi (Babar Ali). Since childhood, Mureed’s mind has been embedded with his father’s teaching of never cheating or disobeying his employer. He shares a special bond with the poor and is reluctant to follow Amin’s order to harm them. He meets Asma (Sarah Khan) a girl on a mission of vengeance but seeking redemption too. We also see Sunita Marshall in a bold avatar and her equation with Babar Ali looks different. It would be interesting to see what these two bring to the table.
He is tough and she is elegant. Imran and Sarah were a breath of fresh air and looked a million bucks in their first outing ‘Raqs-e-Bismil’. Their sizzling chemistry is already an added advantage for ‘Namak Haram’ as their loyal fan base will be closely watching this one. Both actors are well known for putting their best foot forward. Will Sarah and Imran continue their winning streak with ‘Namak Haram’?
Summing It Up
Good mix of actors, great production value and a credible director, on paper ‘Namak Haram’ seems to be a well-packaged enterprise.
