Khalil ur Rehman Qamar Gets Abducted and Robbed in Lahore

One of Pakistan’s Popular playwrights, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar was abducted by armed men who further carried out a robbery in Lahore.

According to Qamar’s statement recorded by Sundar police station (Lahore), the incident happened when a woman named Amna called Qamar at her house to discuss a new project.

The robbers demanded a large sum to release him. The first information report (FIR) also says that the suspects not just tortured Qamar but took him to multiple locations. They stole his cell phone, cash and watch and transferred Rs250,000 from his ATM card.

Not only that, the kidnappers threatened to kill him and demanded money from his relatives. Before disappearing, the kidnappers blindfolded Qamar, and left him in a deserted area.

For the unversed, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar is a well-known name in the entertainment industry of Pakistan. Be it writing, directing or productions, his well-known projects include ‘Punjab Nahi Jaungi’, ‘Mere Paas Tum Ho’, ‘Pyaray Afzal’, ‘Sadqay Tumhare’ and the recent ‘Gentleman’.

On the contrary, Qamar is also known for grabbing eyeballs for his bold and controversial statements about women on various news channels and podcasts.
