After dropping the teaser, the makers of ‘Mastaani’ have released the full-length trailer. Starring Affan Waheed and Amna Ilyas, the Usman Rizvi directorial is a tale of love, raw emotions, mystery and heartbreak.
The trailer of ‘Mastaani’ establishes the boy-meet-girl narrative before revealing the unexpected twist. Aliya (Amna Ilyas) is shown as a pretty yet ambitious girl wanting to do something big. She wants to marry a guy who likes her sense of humor and not her looks.
Her character crosses paths with the innocent Affan. They have nothing in common, yet they fall in love. The trailer offers a close look at the tragic plot, a murder occurs and Aliya suddenly disappears.
Affan and Amna make a good pair, the actors sink well into their characters. The latter reminds us of Geet from Bollywood’s ‘Jab We Met’. We also see Hira Khan as a reporter alongside Aadi Adeal Amjad.
For the unversed, ‘Mastaani’ is Waheed’s cinematic debut. The actor in an exclusive conversation with Pakistani Cinema described the project as ‘a very interesting one’. ‘People might think it’s a light hearted romantic comedy but it’s a lot more than just that. Once I started reading this script I was totally engrossed as it has suspense, drama, satire and so much’.
Let’s see if ‘Mastaani’ lives up to the expectations once the film releases in cinemas on August 23, 2024.
