Pakistani television is finally coming out of ‘Saas-bahu’ serials and expanding its horizon by experimenting with different genres. With revenge and crime thrillers like ‘Khaie’ and ‘DuniyaPur’, 2024 has been a year where we saw different genres explored on our TV screens. Another such drama is 7th Sky Entertainment’s upcoming court room drama, titled ‘Case No. 9’.
Recently director Syed Wajahat Hussain shared some photos from script reading sessions with famous talk show host and journalist Jahanzeb Khanzada. It turned out that Jahanzeb is making his debut as writer with the script of ‘Case No. 9’. Wajahat, who also directed “Khaie” this year, will be helming the project.
Later on Saba Qamar also shared some photos from the sets of ‘Case No. 9’, confirming her association with the project as leading lady.
According to Galaxy Lollywood, Amina Sheikh and Faysal Quraishi are also starring in the serial. Amina is making her comeback after a seven years hiatus. Her last work was Asim Abbasi’s much celebrated feature film ‘Cake’ (2018).
The serial will also mark a re-union of ‘Maat’ (2011) co-stars, Saba and Amina, as the two will be sharing the screen space after fourteen years.
With the best of the talent on board, ‘Case No. 9’ promises to be an intense and intriguing crime based serial laced with some finest performances. We are definitely looking forward to this one.
