Pakistani cinema’s three most recent releases kept trudging on this week. “Laal Kabootar”, “Sher Dil” and “Project Ghazi” raked in respectable numbers either at the domestic box office or overseas.
“Laal Kabootar” raked in 43 lacs in its fourth week of release which brought its total to 3.1 crores. The film’s effectiveness at attracting niche audiences even in its fourth week of release has shown that the red bird has staying power. If it completes its run at 4 crores then it will at least break even at the box office.
“Sher Dil” remained the highest earning Pakistani release. It raked in 1.1 crore in the fourth week of release and brought its domestic total to 11.53 crores. Film’s international release brought in more money as “Sher Dil” earned 42.5 lacs from UK, 24 lacs from North America and 41.5 lacs from the UAE-GCC states; a total of 1.08 crore. That brought its worldwide total to an estimated 12.61 crores.
“Project Ghazi” was released this week in the GCC states where it managed to rake in 32 lacs. This was a major improvement from its performance at the domestic box office.
