The winners at Lux Style Awards 2019

The Lux Style Awards remain the most consistent and most watched awards of Pakistan . For the 2019 edition of the awards, the main films in contention were “JPNA2” “Load Wedding”, “Cake” and “Teefa in Trouble”. And since the awards feature viewers and jury’s choice categories, each film got its fair share of awards. “Teefa in Trouble” and “Load Wedding” got the lead with two awards each while “Cake”, “Parwaaz Hai Junoon” and “Motorcycle Girl” bagged one each.

Viewer’s Choice

The Best Actor award went to Ali Zafar for Teefa in Trouble and the Best Actress award went to Mehwish Hayat for Load Wedding. This was pretty obvious as both films had done well at the box office and both actors enjoy incredible popularity in Pakistan.

Jury Awards

As per the jury  Fahad Mustafa was the choice for best actor for Load Wedding which was not surprising at all since he’s become known as the every man actor in Pakistani Cinema ever since the revival.

However, Best Actress being awarded to Sohai Ali Abro was quite a surprise since Aamina Sheikh and Sanam Saeed were both nominated for their brilliant performances in Cake.

Best Director quite deservedly went to Ahsan Rahim for Teefa in Trouble. Teefa was the first film in the history of Pakistan to incorporate technically impressive action sequences and wowed audiences with its fast paced fight scenes.

Best Film went to Cake. And if you’ve seen the film, you’d agree that there was really none other to have the award this year.

Music

Atif Aslam walked away with Playback Singer of the year for the romantic Thaam Lo from the film Parwaz Hai Junoon.

Singer of the Year, which seems like a redundant award, went to Mohsin Abbas Haider and Sohail Haider for Na Jaa.

However, the Song of the Year went to Ya Qurban, Khumaariyan from the last season of Coke Studio.

And the Emerging Talent in Music Award went to Saakin for Saqi e Bewafa.
