“The Donkey King”, the sleeper hit of 2018, has been making the rounds at the foreign box office. It was released in Spain, Russia, South Korea, and the Ukraine where it did fairly well. However, it has now been released in Turkey where its collection has outdone all others in foreign markets.
The Aziz Jindani directed animated feature released across more than 100 screens in Turkey on December 20 and made 378,926 TL (98 lacs) over first week and 51,717 (14 lacs) during second weekend. Film has raked in a total of 430,643 TL (1.12 crore) over the span of 10 days at the Turkish box office. Altogether, combined with the other box office collections from foreign markets, its total comes to 3.06 crores.
“The Donkey King” may yet tour other foreign markets and rake in even more cash. We, at PakistaniCinema.Net, however, are waiting restlessly for Aziz Jindani’s next project. So far his ventures in animation, “Commander Safeguard” and “The Donkey King”, have been undeniable successes. If things keep going as they are, he may yet prove to be the animator extraordinaire for Pakistan.
