After a hiatus of almost eighteen months, cinemas in Pakistan have been recently re-opened with flicks like “Venom 2”, “Conjuring 3”, “Jungle Cruise”, “Malignant” and “Dune”. Most of the cinemas have already resumed operations and with Cinepax Cinemas and Nueplex Cinemas to also re-open their sites in coming days, exciting times for movie buffs have surely began. Despite the release of major Hollywood titles, the cine-goers have been waiting for local films to start releasing once again. Here are the films that have been slated for release in cinemas this fall.
Khel Khel Mein
The Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza’s film “Khel Khel Mein” will be the first local title to release in cinemas after the hiatus that spanned over one and a half years. The film stars Sajal Ali and Bilal Abbas in lead roles and is announced to release on 19th November by Eveready Pictures.
Sheenogai
A revenge thriller by Abu Aleeha, “Sheenogai” is the second local release to follow “Khel Khel Mein”. Produced by Zammy Productions, film is scheduled to release on 26th November by Metro Live Movies.
Udham Patakh
Produced under the banner of KK films and directed by Abu Aleeha, “Udham Patakh” is a horror-comedy that features a fresh cast besides Faizan Sheikh as the notable name. Film is slated for a release on December 10th by Metro Live Movies.
Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad
Starring Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa, “Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad” is undoubtedly the most awaited film of this season. The Nabeel Qureshi directed will be hitting cinemas this Christmas season. The action-comedy flick is scheduled for release on December 24th by Eveready Pictures.
Javed Iqbal: The Untold Story of a Serial Killer
Starring Yasir Hussain and Ayesha Omer in lead roles, the film is based on true events and it’s first look poster featuring Yasir has gained much attention due to the striking resemblance of the actor’s appearance with Javed Iqbal. Though there has been no official announcement made about the release of film but the producers are aiming for a release during Christmas holidays.
Other Films Expected This Fall
There are also films that are not officially announced as of yet but can be expected to release soon. Syed Atif’s horror-comedy “Peechay Tou Dekho” might see a release sometime in December while Abu Aleeha is planning to come up with Mohsin Abbas Haider starrer “Once Upon a Time in Karachi” in January.
