Exclusive: Film on the Life of Serial Killer Javed Iqbal Goes on Floors

Many of you will be familiar with the name of Javed Iqbal. Presumably the most notorious serial killer in Pakistan who confessed sexual abuse and murder of 100 children leaving the nation shocked in 1999. A film is now being made on the heinous crime offender and will be helmed by director Abu Aleeha.

Titled ‘’Untold Story Of Serial Killer Javed Iqbal’’, the film will star Yasir Hussain and Ayesha Omar in lead roles. Yasir Hussain will be playing the role of Javed Iqbal while Ayesha Omar will be seen as a police officer interrogating his case. Both actors made their cinema debut togther with Wajahat Rauf’s “Karachi Sey Lahore” in 2015 and now they will be sharing the screen after six years.

This will be the first time that the story of Javed Iqbal will be show cased on the big screen. Previously a telefilm by Shamoon Abbasi was bared to release by censor board as it found some scenes to be unsuitable for public exhibition. A web series was later announced by Shamoon Abbasi on the same subject titled “The Story of Javed Iqbal and the 100 smiles” in 2019 but there has been a lull about its production ever since. It will be interesting to see the execution of such a controversial and sensitive subject onscreen because falling prey to the scrutiny of censorship with such subjects is always on cards.

The film is produced by Javed Ahmed Kakepoto of KK Films Productions. Reliable sources confirmed Pakistani Cinema that shoot of the film has already started on Monday, 9th of August.

Keep checking the space for more updates on the film and more.
