This weekend has proven to be a decent one for Pakistani box office. While the new releases like “Rehbra”, “Chaudhry” and “Elvis” launched with a dull start, the holdover films like “Kamli”, “Jurassic World Dominion” and “Top Gun: Maverick” managed to keep attracting footfalls over the weekend.
Jurassic World Dominion
The film lead the box office chart with the collections of 1.10 crore PKR over the third weekend. Film had earlier raked in 7.23 crore and 3.75 crore over first and second week, respectively. The sum total of film after the third weekend now aggregates around 12.08 crore PKR.
Top Gun: Maverick
The Tom Cruise starrer is still minting money at box office even after a month of its release. It collected more than 50 lacs PKR over the fifth weekend, taking its sum total to tally over 14 crores PKR. It is expected to cross 15 crore milestone before the Eid-ul-Azha.
Kamli
The Sarmad Khoosat directed is still attracting its niche audience after the three weeks of its release. The film has managed to collect 33 lacs PKR over the fourth weekend, taking its total till Sunday to 4.7 crore PKR. Film will cross the 5 crore landmark on coming weekend.
Rehbra
The Ahsan Khan and Ayesha Omar starrer struggled at box office on its opening weekend. As per the estimates by trade analyst Ali Zain, film could manage the debut of only 20 lacs PKR.
Chaudhry: The Martyr
The Azeem Sajjad directed biopic based on the life of slain SSP Chaudhry Aslam Khan had a weak debut at box office as the film, according to estimates by Ali Zain, could only collect 13 lacs over the weekend.
The two new releases had a great opportunity to keep doing business till Eid, however, the chances for these films are now grim considering their business over opening weekend. The holdover films, however, will keep raking in money until the major titles like “London Nahi Jaunga”, “Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad” and “Thor: Love and Thunder” hit the theatres on Eid-ul-Azha.
