Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan and Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor are busy these days filming for their upcoming romantic comedy film ‘Abir Gulaal’ in and around London, reported by Variety. The project will be shot in UK over October and November.
“The film explores the journey of two individuals who unintentionally help each other heal, with love blossoming as an unexpected consequence”, says Aarti S. Bagdi, the director of the film, while talking about the project to the publication.
Film is produced by Vivek B. Agrawal, Avantika Hari and Rakesh Sippy. Talking about Fawad Khan, the producers of the film stated: “Fawad has a massive global fan base, and we anticipate that audiences and his fans will wholeheartedly embrace this film, as it showcases him in his most endearing role yet. The chemistry between Fawad and Vaani is expected to light up the screen with their captivating performances and undeniable charm.”
Fawad Khan made his Bollywood debut with Sonam Kapoor starrer “Khoobsurat”(2014) and won Filmfare award for ‘Best Debut Actor’ for the film. He was later seen in two of Dharma Productions’ projects, “Kapoor & Sons” and “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil”, in 2016 before the unofficial ban on Pakistani artists working in Indian films in the same year.
Although the Bombay High Court last year dismissed the petition seeking to officially ban Pakistani artists from working in Indian films. However, after the halt in the release of Fawad Khan’s Pakistani Punjabi film “The Legend of Maula Jatt” (which was scheduled for India release on October 2 by Zee Studios) due to the threats by right wing groups, it remains to be seen how the distributors of this project ensure a smooth release of a Bollywood film in India that stars a Pakistani actor in a leading role.
