“Love Guru” and “Deemak” Continue to Mint Money in Fourth Week Despite “Sardaar Ji 3” Release

“Love Guru” and “Deemak” successfully brought audiences back to cinemas on Eid-ul-Azha and maintained the momentum even after the Eid holidays. However, with the release of Diljit Dosanjh and Hania Amir’s Indian Punjabi film “Sardaar Ji 3” on Friday, shows of the two local Eid releases and other foreign films were significantly reduced to accommodate the overwhelming demand for the latest release.

While “Sardaar Ji 3” had a record-breaking opening weekend of PKR 10.9 crore in Pakistan with a maximum number of shows, the holdover local releases continued to add to their tally and showed no signs of slowing down.

Love Guru

Humayun Saeed and Mahira Khan’s “Love Guru” has surpassed the PKR 40 crore mark at the Pakistani box office on its fourth weekend. According to estimates by trade analyst Ali Zain, the film raked in PKR 21.5 crore, PKR 11.25 crore, and PKR 6.75 crore during its first, second, and third weeks, respectively. Despite the start of Muharram and the latest release “Sardaar Ji 3”, the film managed to add another PKR 1.75 crore over the fourth weekend, taking its domestic total to PKR 41.25 crore.

Deemak

The Samina Peerzada, Sonya Hussyn, and Faysal Quraishi-starrer horror film “Deemak” has proven to be the dark horse from local film industry in 2025. The film has already surpassed the PKR 15 crore mark on Tuesday, continuing its pathbreaking journey for experimental cinema in the country. It collected PKR 5.51 crore, PKR 5.08 crore, and PKR 3.55 crore during its first, second, and third weeks. It further recorded PKR 64 lacs over the fourth weekend, and continued a strong hold on Monday and Tuesday with PKR 10 lacs and PKR 12 lacs, respectively. Film’s total till fourth Tuesday now stands at PKR 15.09 crore.
