Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza, after ‘NaBaligh Afraad’ last year, are back with their next film, and it’s already on floors these days in Karachi. Produced under the banner of Filmwala Pictures, the film stars Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat in the lead roles.
Mehwish Hayat also celebrated her birthday on the sets of the film along with stylist Rao Ali Khan, and makeup artist and actor Waqar Hussain. The birthday cake bore the inscription “Happy Birthday Queen Mehwish Hayat”.
Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat have previously worked together on three projects for Nabeel and Fizza including ‘Load Wedding’, ‘Actor in Law’, and ‘Na Maloom Afraad’. The latter only starred Mehwish Hayat in a cameo for the dance number “Billi”. Their last together ‘Load Wedding’ was released in 2018, and now they are all set to reunite on screen after eight years.
The film is said to be an action entertainer. Fizza and Nabeel’s films have always been fast paced and action pack, but they’ve yet to make an out and out action film, so this should be interesting.
Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza have had a consistent track record of releasing films almost every 2 years. Their rapid shooting style and grounded approach has served them well.
Along with Humayun Saeed’s studio; Six Sigma Plus, they’ve been a staple of the Pakistani theatrical experience in the new wave. Since their debut film ‘Na Maloom Afraad’(2014), they’ve made a total of 7 films. This will be their eighth.
It’s too early to speculate about a release date. However, given their track record, Fizza and Nabeel will probably be releasing their latest film on Eid-ul-Azha 2026. With this film and ‘Aag Lagay Basti Mein’, both scheduled for release in 2026, it’s safe to say that the year belongs to Fahad Mustafa already.
