Shaan Shahid’s “Bullah” finally has its official trailer and it’s a blood bath from start to finish. This is probably the goriest film that Shaan has ever starred in, and it’s in lockstep with the violent films which have achieved box office success in the last decade.
Similar to the teaser, the trailer shows Shaan Shahid’s character “Bullah” facing off against a crime syndicate, with several mafia dons standing in his way. Whether what he’s trying to achieve is justice or revenge, is for you to decide.
Adnan Butt, Naeema Butt, and Saleem Sheikh star as the mafia dons whose armies Bullah is slowly tearing down. Along for the ride is Sara Loren, who plays Shaan’s love interest, and also gets to star in her own action sequences. Let’s hope it’s more than just one shot from the trailer.
The film’s gore looks over the top and cartoonish, so it looks more like “John Wick” than “The Equalizer”. Shoaib Khan seems to be eager to make this action film more digestible to the masses. Hence, his action set pieces look catered towards the audience’s cheers and whistles rather than their groans and squirms.
That being said, there’s no shortage of weapons in this film. Guns, pistols, knives, swords, axes, and even torches are used in brawls that take place in jungles, dimly light nightclubs, parking lots, and long hallways.
If you’re keen for over the top action and gore in the theaters, then you should get tickets to “Bullah”. The film hits theaters on Eid Ul Fitr.
