Last year Eid ul Azha saw the release of “Jawani Phir Nahi Aani 2”, a sequel of the 2015’s ground breaking box office success “JPNA”. Despite competition from two other major motion pictures of the industry released on the same occasion, the movie managed to shatter all previous box office records in Pakistan.
The Sixth Sigma Plus, Salman Iqbal Films and ARY Films collaborative production became the first movie to ever cross 40 crores mark at Pakistani box office and later went on to cross the once un imaginable 50 crore mark for any film at Pakistani box office.
And now to add another feather in the cap, the Humayun Saeed and Fahad Mustafa starrer has now crossed 70 crore mark worldwide, which is definitely a whopping number. The news was broken by ARY CEO Jerjees Seja on social media with caption; “News alert! The biggest blockbuster of all time #JPNA2 becomes the first ever Pakistani movie to cross Rs.70 Crores at the Global box office!”

The movie recently benefited by re playing in cinemas nationwide due to bollywood ban and for the delay in major Hollywood films. While JPNA2 stands tall with all these ‘firsts’ and ‘highests’, if there is any movie in the near future which seems to have a chance to dethrone JPNA2, its “The Legend of Maula Jatt”. But for that, we will have to wait till this year’s Eidul-Fitr.
