As the last weekend of October arrives there are quite a few new releases you can go watch. Along with foreign films, there are a few local films that might interest audiences. Here is the rundown:
‘Kaaf Kangana’-Distributed by Excellency Films
This is one of the most awaited films of the year, as well as a local offering. Concerning the Kashmir issue and a cross border romance, Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar’s Kaaf Kangana stars Sami Khan, Esha Fayyaz, Fizza Ali and Ayesha Omar, along with Sajid Hassan and others. The film has also recently garnered attention due to the item number by Neelam Muneer. Fans of Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar’s writing will find this a treat to watch.

‘Durj’-Distributed by Distribution Club
Shamoon Abbasi’s passion project about cannibalism in Pakistan is perhaps the most unique offering in the new wave of Pakistani cinema. Based on true events that occurred in the country a few years ago, the film centers on a Psychiatrist looking for her husband and a cannibal that she comes across who may lead her to him.
The film was originally supposed to release on October 18th, but was banned by the Federal Censor Board. However, an appeal led to the film being verified for release, the following week.
Definitely don’t miss this. It hits theaters on Friday, October 25th.

‘Countdown’-Distributed by HKC Entertainment
The only Hollywood release this week, “Countdown” focuses on an application that can tell you when you will die. The story centers on a nurse who downloads the app and realizes she doesn’t have more than a few days left to live. Eventually, she begins to see a shadowy figure following her.
“Countdown” releases in theaters this Friday on October 25th.
