Five Pakistani films were scheduled for Eid-ul-Azha release this year, out of which ‘Manju Maria’ couldn’t get green signal from Censor Board. The remaining four Pakistani titles, ‘Umro Ayyar: A New Beginning’, ‘Na Baligh Afraad’, ‘Abhi’ and ‘Bhediya’ released in cinemas on Eid and as expected, ‘Umro Ayyar’ lead the box office.
Umro Ayyar: A New Beginning
Fantasy film ‘Umro Ayyar: Ayyar: A New Beginning’ dominated the box office over the Eid holidays. According to box office analyst Ali Zain, the film raked in more than 8 crore PKR over seven days period (Monday to Sunday). The Usman Mukhtar starrer will hit 10 crore PKR ceiling over the weekdays and is expected to become the highest grossing Pakistani film post “The Legend of Maula Jatt” (2022) after surpassing the lifetime business of “Money Back Guarantee” (2023).
‘Abhi’ & ‘Na Baligh Afraad’
While there has been no unbiased box office reporting on ‘Abhi’ and ‘Na Baligh Afraad’, the official pages of the films have updated their collections. According to the production houses of the said films, Kubra Khan and Goher Mumtaz starrer ‘Abhi’ has collected 4.2 crore PKR while Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza’s film ‘Na Baligh Afraad’ has collected 3 crore PKR over the seven days period.
