“Gunjal” Wins Big at Film Festival Circuits in India and US

“Gunjal”, the mystery thriller about the murder of child labour activist Iqbal Masih, is winning big at film festival circuits.

It won the ‘Best Film’ award at the 12th Indian Cine Film Festival in Mumbai after receiving great acclaim from critics at the festival.

It also clinched the Best Director Award at the DC South Asian Film Festival for Shoaib Sultan.

The film was also awarded ‘Best Film’ at the Pakistani Cinema Awards in 2023 for its engaging screenplay and sensitive treatment of an event that is rarely discussed in Pakistan.

“Gunjal” discussed all sides to an event that is still shrouded in mystery in Pakistan, and the misery at the root of which still stays intact.

Child labour still deprives millions of children of a future and an education.
