“Aag Lagay Basti Mein” and “Bullah” Worldwide Box Office: Eid-ul-Fitr 2026 Breaks Records

Eid Ul Fitr 2026 has brought in record breaking numbers at the worldwide box office. The two major releases, “Aag Lagay Basti Mein” and “Bullah” have brought in great numbers in Pakistan and overseas territories to stamp this Eid as a bona fide box office success.

Aag Lagay Basti Mein

Let’s begin with the firecracker. Fahad Mustafa and Mahira Khan’s Aag Lagay Basti Mein has set several records at the Pakistani and worldwide box office for its opening weekend.

Biggest Domestic Opening Weekend Of All Time

In Pakistan, the film grossed PKR 16.2 Cr, breaking the record set by Humayun Saeed’s Love Guru in 2025 (PKR 12.8 Cr). The film has also broken the all time opening weekend record set by Avengers Endgame back in 2019 (PKR 14.5 Cr).

Reports of sold out shows are coming in from multiple cities, with cinemas adding extra shows to accommodate the rush. The film’s star power, quick pace and its emphasis on comedy and action are being touted by audiences. Tabish Hashmi’s performance is being praised as the highlight of the film.

Overseas Collections

International audiences are also showing the film a lot of love. The opening weekend brought in a total of 11 Cr from various territories including North America, UAE, and the UK.

United Kingdom

An initial figure of £61,000 (PKR 2.26 Cr) was reported for the opening weekend.

North America

Comprising the US and Canada territories, the North American box office generated $165,000 (PKR 4.60 Cr).

UAE

The film took an outstanding start in UAE with an opening weekend of $181k (PKR 5.05 Cr.).

Australia

The film generated a total of  $17,764 (PKR 50 Lacs) at the Australian box office.

Bullah

Shaan’s action packed bloodbath, Bullah is the second biggest film doing the rounds. It has generated buzz among Shaan’s fans and is poised to be the superstar’s biggest film since 2013’s Waar.

Domestic Opening Weekend

Bullah scored 2.36 Cr at the local box office during its opening weekend. The film is facing tough competition from Aag Lagay Basti Mein which has taken over the lion’s share of shows at cinemas across the nation.

The bigger 5-day total as reported by Shake Films is PKR 8.91 Cr.

Overseas Opening Weekend Gross

Bullah’s performance overseas has fared similarly to its performance domestically. The total of some of the major territories like UK, North America and UAE comes to PKR 1.33 Cr.

North America

The film pulled in much lower numbers than its competition in North America, generating just $7500 (20.9 Lacs).

UAE

In UAE, Shaan Shahid starrer registered a decent opening weekend with $23,505 ( PKR 66 Lacs )

United Kingdom

In the UK, the film collected a modest total of £12,000 (PKR 46 Lacs).

Other Films

There are a couple of other films running at the Pakistani box office since Eid weekend, while others have begun advanced booking.

Delhi Gate

The only other domestic release from Pakistan is the Shamoon Abbasi starrer and Nadeem Cheema directorial Delhi Gate. In production since 2019, the film has finally been released. However, very few shows, if any, are available for the film in cinemas. No box office figures have been reported yet either.

Dasim

The Indonesian horror flick Dasim is running in cinemas nationwide. The film is about a newly wed couple who are haunted by the demon Dasim.

Project Hail Mary

One of the biggest Hollywood films of the year, this sci-fi adventure stars Ryan Gosling. From the author behind the Martian, the film is being touted as one of the best of the year.

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come

The sequel to the gory Samara Weaving starrer about a nightmare of a wedding night, the film ups the body count and the gore. It also stars Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elijah Wood.

Viyaah Kartaare Da

This is the latest offering from Indian Punjab starring Gippy Garewal, Gurpreet Singh and Nimrat Khaira. The film has received glowing reviews for its laughs and zany plot.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

The film hasn’t been released yet, but advanced booking is open. The sequel to the billion dollar worldwide animated hit is set to light the box office on fire. You can get your tickets now.
