The year 2022 has been quite historic for cinema industry with commercial blockbuster like “The Legend of Maula Jatt” and critically acclaimed films like “Kamli” and “Joyland”. 2023, however, doesn’t hold many promising titles as major production houses like Sixth Sigma, Filmwala Pictures, Mastermind Films and M&D Productions etc have not yet made any official announcement about their next projects. However, few independent production companies are coming forth to fill the space and are announcing new projects. One such project is “Nayab” that will mark the film debut of TV star Yumna Zaidi.
“Nayab” is said to be a sports film but with a bigger narrative that makes it more than just a sports film. It is a story about a boy who couldn’t fulfil his dream to become a cricketer but instead supports his sister to achieve her ambitions despite father’s objections.
Yumna Zaidi has famous TV projects like “Dar Si Jaati Hai Sila”, “Dil Na-Umeed Toh Nahi”, “Parizaad” and “Bakhtawar” to her credit and is currently one of the most sought after names Pakistan’s media industry. She unveiled the motion poster of film on her Instagram.
