Five Reasons Why “The Legend of Maula Jatt” is One to Look Out For

It’s now been more than two weeks that we were all left wonder stuck by the teaser trailer of what now seems the grandest offering of Pakistani cinema history “The Legend of Maula Jatt” . While we will have to wait for a few more months to witness the promising Jatt & Noori rivalry unfold, here we analyze some reasons why TLMJ is the one to look out for.

1- The return of Fawad Khan:

Fawad was last seen in an extended cameo in Karan Johar’s “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” and his fans have had a tough time waiting for his big screen return. And from the look of it, his role as Maula is going to be a treat. He is seen here playing against his image of the well-spoken cultured poster child of modern Pakistan. He definitely looks the part in both his demeanor and physique.

2- Exceptional visuals and production value:

Pakistani cinema has made broad leaps in the last 5 years or so. They may not have the budgets available to the likes of Ridley Scott (Gladiator) Bhansali’s (Padmaavat) or even S S Rajamouli’s (Bahubali series) but the film is believed to be the most expensive Pakistani production to date. And as evident from the teaser trailer the makers have managed to get a distinctively other-worldly look with a dark edge.

3- Return of the “Humsafar”s:

The popular Humsafar jodi returns after a long haitus in a never seen before avatar. Its been a long tiring wait for their fans to get a glimpse of them together on big screen. Also Hamza Ali Abbasi and Humaima Malik in the mix makes for an exciting star cast.

4- Promising boxoffice Collections:

MJ has all the ingredients to break the previous records set by PNJ, JPNA2 and others. It promises a mix of entertainment, content and nostalgic flavour that has the potential to deliver solid box office collections. All signs are positive as the film is also expected to release in China alongside Pakistan and elsewhere.

(5) Fawad Khan vs Hamza Ali Abbasi:

Very different from the machismo of Sultan Rahi and Mustafa Qureshi the new actors infuse their own style into this reboot.  Retaining the signature bloody gandasa with a fresher fighting style the film promises an action clash of epic proportions. Fans of the two stars will enjoy seeing these two battle it out.
