Horror Flick ‘Pari’ Gets its Digital Release

Horror film “Pari” finally gets its digital premiere. “Pari” was initially scheduled to release in cinemas on Halloween 2017, however, it got delayed and finally released in cinemas last year on 2nd February and failed to leave any mark during its theatrical run. Fortunately the same year film got its television premiere on Geo TV and managed to grab decent viewership. Now finally the local horror flick has been premiered on Netflix and is now available on the streaming platform for people to watch around the globe.

Directed by Syed Atif Ali, and co-written by Atif himself and Muhammad Ahsan, Pari is a 2018 Pakistani film revolving around a couple, Mehwish and Shehram, and their daughter Pari. The story revolves around their family which moves into a new house in the mountains, where their lives take strange turn when unusual things start to happen affecting their lives .

The idea behind the film was to explore the “logic vs religion”. Although film failed to impress critics and could not earn much moolah at the time of its theatrical run but we at Pakistani Cinema would like to appreciate Syed Atif Ali for daring to venture into the almost-never-explored genre of Horror in Pakistani cinema.
