Humaima Malick Breaks Silence on Abusive Marriage with Ex Husband Shamoon Abbasi

Social media has it’s cons but these days it has also given a voice to those who were previously supressed mainly due to societal pressure. Recently Mohsin Abbas Haider’s wife Fatema accused him of domestic abuse which was shortly followed by support from big names from the industry. That’s not all, Mohsin has also been fired by the channel Dunya from his show “Mazaaqrat” in light of the current scenario.

Now another celebrity is being dragged in to the court of social media by his ex wife. This time the wife is a well known face of Pakistan’s entertainment industry. We are talking about actress Humaima Malik who after years of silence has finally picked up the courage to speak up on social media about the abuse she endured in her marriage with Shamoon Abbasi.

“Although it has been years.. but all those years and pain filled days and nights still haunt me”, wrote Humaima in her Instagram story.

Humaima was married to Shamoon in her teens and the couple parted ways after the three years of an unsuccessful marriage. Their marriage ended during the days when Humaima was shooting her debut film “Bol”. Although her break up proved rather lucky for her career but the actress still doesn’t seem to be over all those days of suffering.
“I was only a 19, 20 year old miserable young girl who couldn’t even share my wounds with my parents. I am ashamed of myself today (that) I didn’t do any thing for myself (during) three years of abusive marriage, 7 years of another abusive relationship and it repeated again.” While we know about her marriage to Shamoon, we are still not sure to whom the “Dekh Magar Pyar Say” star is referring to for her seven year relation that she now termed as “abusive”.

“I have been threatened, abused, beaten, not once but many times”, the actress also shared all of it on her twitter handle. She says that she is not scared of any one any more, but she regrets her years long silence over these sufferings. “I am not scared anymore, I am ashamed of silence”.

While Fatema’s protest turned the career of Mohsin upside down, will Humaima’s confessions do the same for Shamoon? That remains to be seen.
