It’s a dull phase for cinema and the film industry these days. The recently released “Sacch” has failed to change anything and there are no films announced for release in the next few months. Only a few films are expected to release in the first quarter of 2020, one being Fayyaz Adrees’ “Thori Setting Thora Pyar”.
“It’s a university life based youthful drama with elements of romance, music and comedy”, Fayyaz told our correspondent. He particularly emphasized that this comedy is going to be family friendly, unlike many recently released adult comedies.
The film is written and produced by Tariq Awan and is directed by Fayyaz Adrees. Fayyaz started his career with TV and produced and directed the Sonya Hussyn starrer “Surkh Jora” for HUM TV, among many other projects. He later produced an off beat art house film called “My Pure Land” and these days he is working on his first commercial film.
Cast of “Thori Setting Thora Pyar” includes Saeeda Imtiaz, Malik Aqeel, Maira Bangash, Nouman Habib, Mahnoor Malik and Laila Zuberi. Saeeda Imtiaz has previously worked in “Kaptaan” and “Wajood” as a lead. For Nouman Habib however, this is a comeback. He debuted with a lead role in “Main Hoon Shahid Afridi” back in 2013. Malik Aqeel was last seen this year in the Mikaal Zulfikar starrer “Sherdil” where he was seen essaying the role of a Sikh. This, however, will mark first film of Aqeel as lead actor.
The film’s music is composed by Lahore based composer Sajji Ali. The music album of the film consists of five songs by artists like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Amanat Ali and Pakistan Idol famed singers Sana Zulfikar and Midhat Hidayat.
“We have tried to provide an opportunity to new artists”, said Fayyaz, “Everyone keeps saying that new talent should be given chance but no one is willing to do that in real. We therefore have tried our part to give some space to new talent through our first commercial film”.
The film’s shoot is complete with only patch work and a song remaining. The film’s unit will be leaving for the US on the 10th of January for the shoot of a song. “We have shot all our songs at very scenic locations. Most of the songs are being shot at Murree, Hunza and other Northern regions of Pakistan. There is only one song that we will shoot in America”.
“Thori Setting Thora Pyar” will be released in March, 2020.
