A few days have passed since some posters depicting the legendary Wasim Akram’s Reverse Swing were making the rounds among showbiz circles reading “PSL brings you an exciting announcement”. This had us all wondering what was in store.
In the opening ceremony which took place yesterday the cat was finally let out of the bag. News has it that a movie on life of Cricket legend Wasim Akram is in the works. The film is titled ” Akram:An Era”. It will be directed by Addeel Niazi who is also the executive producer of the film alongwith Arsalan H Shah. “502 Productions” and “Pomelo Films” will be producing the film.
An announcement teaser for the movie was also revealed, featuring Wasim Akram himself. It’s quite evident from the teaser that the Biopic will cover Akram’s life both on and off the field. The shoot of the movie will commence at year’s end and going by that we can expect the film to have a 2021 release. Auditions for the biopic will begin after PSL.
The movie sounds like a great addition to the roster already in store for release in the future. We hope the makers do justice in depicting the legendary cricketers life, warts and all.
