Considering the recent considerable decline in Corona cases the government has announced the reopening of cinemas and theaters in the country from August 10. The announcement was made by the federal minister for Development and Planning Asad Umar in a televised address to the nation. The cinema activities had come to a halt since mid-march when COVID cases started rising rapidly.
The news comes as a ray of hope towards a much-awaited return of the filmdom activities to normal. However, it will be interesting to see how distributors and producers of the movies, specially big productions like “TLMJ”, “Quaid-e-Azam Zinda Abad”, “Money Back Guarantee” plan their new release dates since a wider international release coinciding with local release seems difficult for now as countries worldwide make slow recoveries from the Covid outcomes. Moreover, the COVID factor might still be playing in the minds of the local audience while going to the cinema halls for some time. For this reason, we might not be able to see some big movies releasing in cinemas in the near future and find some recent movies re-releasing in the theaters for now. Here’s welcoming the return to normal slowly but surely.
