“The Legend of Maula Jatt” Gets Historic Overseas Re-Release on Eid

“The Legend of Maula Jatt” is all set to create history by becoming first Pakistani film to have a re-release in major overseas markets like UK, North America and UAE. In UK, it will be released for the third time as it already got a re-release with an un-cut version across more than 30 venues in December. Now after six months of its release, the film will re-release on April 21 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr across 14 sites in United Kingdom, 9 sites in North America and 2 sites in UAE.

The Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan starrer is already running for more than 175 days in theatres in Pakistan with a gross earning of 113.4 crore PKR approximately. In overseas markets it has minted $2.22 Million from North America, $1.75 Million from United Kingdom, $1.38 Million from Middle East, $395k from Australia, $300k from Europe and $125k from Norway.

The Punjabi action-saga has already made several box office records for a South Asian film. It became highest grossing South Asian film in UK from 2018 till 2022 (later SRK starrer “Pathaan” has broken the record in 2023). It also made a record of most watched South Asian film ever in Norway (later the Rani Mukherjee starrer “Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway” broke that record this year). It is first Pakistani film to cross 2 Million USD in North America, 1 Million GBP in UK and 1 Million USD in UAE. Also the first Pakistani title to gross more than 10 Million USD.
