‘Carry on Jatta’ is the biggest Punjabi film franchise from India and its third instalment is re-writing box office history for Indian Punjabi cinema. Film has grossed over 46 crore INR worldwide during four day extended weekend.
In Pakistan too, ‘Carry on Jatta 3’ has become the biggest Indian Punjabi film with a collection of 7.25 crore PKR over the extended Eid weekend. ‘Carry on Jatta 2’, due to its late release in Pakistan, managed to collect 3.1 crore PKR over three weeks and ended its run around 3.5 crores approximately.
According to trade analyst Ali Zain, ‘Carry on Jatta 3’ has minted 1.1 crore on Thursday (Eid Day 1), 2 crore on Friday (Eid Day 2), 2.2 crore on Saturday (Eid Day 3) and 1.95 crore on Sunday, taking the four day total to 7.25 crore PKR
Film’s release in Rawalpindi/Islamabad circuit got delayed and in Sindh it got limited to no release. But in Punjab, this Gippy Grewal and Sonam Bajwa starrer has lead the box office everywhere. Film has now released in Rawalpindi/Islamabad on Monday and it will add to the gross on weekdays.
