Fahad Mustafa and Hania Aamir are ruling the primetime with their super hit outing ‘Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum’. On paper, the plot of the drama serial is very simple, but what makes the enterprise highly watchable are the stellar acting chops of the star cast and well-placed characters. Resultantly, the Badar Mehmood directorial is raking in the highest TRPs and massive viewership on YouTube. Let’s analyze the factors that make ‘Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum’ highly watchable.
Fahad Mustafa’s Much Needed Comeback
Being a producer Mustafa was well aware of what people are interested in watching i.e. family politics. So he opted for a mass entertainer and the rest is history. With Fahad leading the proceedings, it’s a tailor-made role for his comeback; and, he effortlessly puts soul into his character ‘Mustafa’. Watch him in the scene where he patches up with Sharjeena, his acting prowess is on another level. We are eager to watch Fahad act more instead of hosting.
Hania & Fahad Camaraderie
The real magic of the drama are the acts by the two main leads that capture your attention from the word go. The sparks, delightful moments and vulnerability give a whole new dimension to a boy meet girl story. Such camaraderie is rarely seen on screen in this day and age. It would be surprising of not seeing the two actors rewarded for their class acts in the next award season.
Hania’s Career Best So Far
‘Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum’ is surely a turning point in Hania Aamir’s career. This drama should do for her what ‘Besharam’ (2016) did for Saba Qamar. The way she handles Sharjeena so confidently speaks for itself. She looks like a million bucks and delivers an exemplary performance. She especially standouts in the scenes with Mustafa (of course) and also where she confronts Rubab (Naeema Butt).
The Too Hot To Handle Antagonist
The Greek god Emmad Irfani shifts gear and excels as Adeel big time. He outshines his most memorable act Shayan in “Cheekh” (2019). And that is the quality of a good actor, give him any role and he slips in like a fish takes to water. His casting is bang on and doesn’t get overshadowed by Fahad Mustafa’s star power. He holds his ground well and we are waiting to witness how low Adeel can go to achieve fame and power.
Summing it up
‘Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum’ has emerged as the weekly entertainer. It may not be flawless, but offers plenty of delightful moments in abundance.
