Shaz Khan’s “The Martial Artist” to Release on Eid Ul Fitr 2025

Shaz Khan’s ‘The Martial Artist’ now has a new release date. It was supposed to hit theaters on the 31st of January, 2025, but now the release date has been revised to Eid Ul Fitr 2025.

Shaz Khan, who has been seen in features like ‘Moor’ (2015), ‘Dobara Phir Se’ (2016) and ‘Parwaaz Hai Junoon’ (2018) will make his debut as a lead actor in ‘The Martial Artist’, this year. The film is about the journey of a man from Pakistan to the international arena of mixed martial arts.

The sport has become increasingly popular in the world and now boasts champions from across the world in several variations of martial arts like Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, kickboxing, etc.

The film also stars Sanam Saeed as Shaz’s wife and Faran Tahir as a village elder. There will apparently be an entire sequence dedicated to the fighting styles of the mountainous areas of Pakistan.

‘The Martial Artist’ at least provides intrigue and a different subject, if not bombastic box office results. Sports films in Pakistan are rare. ‘Main Hoon Shahid Afridi’ (2013), ‘Shah’ (2015), ‘Doda’ (2023) and ‘Nayab’ (2024) are just a few which have been released since the new wave of cinema. However, ‘The Martial Artist’ doesn’t just focus on a sport that is not well known in Pakistan, but holds a more somber and serious tone than most Pakistani flicks.
