‘Salakhein’ famed Shahzad Rafique’s next to be penned by Hashim Nadeem

Shahzad Rafique needs no introduction among movie buffs. Starting his cereer in 90’s by producing films like Nikaah and Ghunghat, Shahzad is among those very few filmakers who kept producing quality films post 90’s era which is considered as worst period for local cinema industry. The already successful producer then decided to take the helm of his films into his own hands. After debuting with Rukhsati as director, he then directed two major Pakistani films of the decade, Salaakhein and Mohabtan Sachiyan. His latest offering was 2016’s Salute.

Couple of days ago Shahzad shared on social media a photograph of him with famous novel and screen writer Hashim Nadeem who is known for his best selling novel “Abdullah” and all time famous TV serial “Khuda or Mohabbat”. We at Pakistani Cinema talked to the director to find out if they both are working together on a film?

“Yes its a film. Hashim Nadeem is writing the story, screenplay and dialogues of my next feature film.” said Rafique while speaking to Pakistani Cinema.

“Its quite different from my last film Salute which is a biopic. This one is a comercial film of musical romantic drama genre”, he revealed further, “Music of the film will be composed by Naveed Naushad, who earlier composed the music of Blind Love and then went on composing many successful OST’s for TV.”

Shahzad’s films have always tackled some social issues. We asked him if this film also deals with any of it?

“Yes it is a subjective comercial film like my all previous films. I never go for a meaningless comercial cinema. But its too early to reveal the subject right now” said Ishq Khuda director.

While the cast of film is not final yet, Shahzad hopes to begin the shoot in April and plans to release the film in 2019.
We at Pakistani Cinema wish all the best to Shahzad Rafique and also to Hashim Nadeem for his debut film.
