Amna Ilyas starrer ‘Ready Steady No’ features Rib Tickling Comedy, reveals Director Hisham-bin-Munawar

Ready Steady No

Hisham Bin Munawar started his career working as a crew member for Shoaib Mansoor’s “Bol”, and ever since then has harbored the dream of directing his own project. It looks like this year his dreams are set to come true, as his passion project “Ready Steady No” is going through its final stages of post-production. The film will be distributed by Hum Films/Eveready Pictures and stars the very talented Amna Ilyas along with grandson of vintage poet Saif-ud-Din Saif, Faisal Saif in lead roles. It also stars Salman Shahid, Ismail Tara and Marhoom Ahmad Bilal (last seen as Billu Butt in “Teefa in Trouble”.

Hisham is pumped up now that his pet-project is in its final stages of completion. We got in touch with the director to have a chat about the film, its stars, the challenges he faced and his expectations. He reveals that “The work on the sound and color grading is complete, we are just giving the final touches to the project and expect to have the final print very soon. We will require some time, preferably at least a month, to market the film before its release”.

Asked about the theme of the film, Hisham states that it’s “an out and out comedy, a farce, about the hurdles and situations faced by two lovers trying to get married, and the eccentric characters they encounter in the society. The comedy is definitely not cheap or below the belt, and the film has a very commercial appeal despite a slight indie flavor”. Talking about the challenges he encountered, Hisham adds “The film is purely a passion project which has been completed without any external support. The entire team has made many personal sacrifices for the project to see its completion”.

Casting the much celebrated actress Amna Ilyas, who has already starred in “Zinda Bhaag” and “7 Din Mohabbat In” and will be seen in Saqib Malik’s “Baaji”, must have been a high for Hisham. Clearly pleased with her performance and the way she vibed with the team, Hishaam says that “Amna went the extra mile for this film”.

Since the film is an out and out entertainer, it also features a wedding dance number along with a song that has been shot as a montage. Hisham is optimistic about the film’s prospects at the box office “We are very confident of our content, and are certain that the audience will be able to relate with the film and respond positively”.

We at PakistaniCinema wish Hisham and his team all the best and look forward to enjoying “Ready Steady No” in the theater, very soon.
