EXCLUSIVE: Fawad Khan to Venture into Film Production, Casts Mahira Khan Opposite Himself

An actor has every right to boost and align his career the way he/she wants by producing content for him/herself. From Sabiha Khanum to Waheed Muraad, Shamim Ara to Sangeeta, Jawed Sheikh to Shaan Shahid and Reema, there have been many examples in our film industry where our leading film stars ventured into film production. The most recent examples in the new wave of Pakistani cinema are Humayun Saeed, Sheheryar Munawar and Ali Zafar. Another star who now is all set to join the league is one of the most liked faces of Pakistan’s entertainment industry across the globe, Fawad Khan.

Fawad is undoubtedly the one star who brought back the Waheed Murad charm of a chocolatey romantic hero through his effortless onscreen romance on small screen opposite Sanam Baloch (Dastaan), Sanam Saeed (Zindagi Gulzar Hai) and, at the top of the heap, with Mahira Khan (Humsafar).

After “Humsafar”, the two Khans could never re-unite for a film or TV project until “The Legend of Maula Jatt”. But that’s not all, as the two just might be sharing the screen very soon. A reliable source has informed us that Fawad Khan is finally venturing into film production in Pakistan. The film will star Fawad Khan in lead role and is said to be directed by a debutante who has a few TVCs to his credit. Contrary to the recently floating rumours of Fawad Khan playing role of a blind person in his next film, our sources informed that it’s actually the female character who is blind in this film.

Again, this is not all as according to our sources, no one else but Mahira Khan is believed to play the lead role in this film. Although nothing has been set in stone as of yet but the “Superstar” is in talks for the film from quite some time. The script of the film is in its early stages at the moment but is expected to go on floors very soon.
