Many of the country’s big names with great potentials have suffered at hands of downfall of film industry in the last few decades. But all thanks to the recent revival of film industry, our artists, quite deservingly, are now being utilized in some quality projects and are making their name across the globe. What, however, was irking us during this whole time was absence of industry’s biggest Khan, Fawad Khan from the film scene.
After his chartbuster TV serials and his most noted Bollywood debut, we were always waiting for him to appear in Pakistani films. Few years back, Fawad was announced to be part of a few film projects but none of those projects saw the light of day. The only film of Khan that went on floors, “The Legend of Maula Jatt” is now facing constant delays and a never ending legal battle of copyrights. Meanwhile, the only way we were fed Fawad Khan on cinema screens was through meaningless cameos where we couldn’t get enough of the star.
But it seems like the fans of “Khuda Kay Liye” actor are finally going to see him on cinema screens for more than just cameo roles. And that might be happening very soon with him appearing in multiple upcoming projects. It was just recently that we exclusively updated you guys about Fawad’s upcoming film opposite Mahira Khan which he will be producing himself. And as if that wasn’t enough to have us excited, entertainment portal EPK recently reported that the “Zindagi Gulzar Hai” star will be seen in Faisal Qureshi’s directorial debut film ”Money Back Guarantee”.
Earlier this year Faisal Qureshi announced another film “Alif Aur Noon” with Shahzad Roy and himself in lead roles. Is it the same project with a different title? Has Fawad Khan replaced Shahzad Roy? To get answers to these questions we got ahold of Faisal and here is what he said.
“It’s a different project. ‘Alif Aur Noon’ is postponed for now but I will get back on that project soon after this film, InshaAllah.”
Set to go on floors this November. The film is penned by Faisal himself and will be produced by his own production company. The comedy-drama will star Fawad Khan in lead role with Mikaal Zulfiqar, Kiran Malik (“Pinky Memsaab” and “Zarrar” star) and former Pakistani cricketer Waseem Akram in other major roles. The exciting lead cast will be accompanied by an ensemble supporting cast that includes Jawed Sheikh, Gohar Rasheed, Mani, Hina Dilpazir and Afzal Rambo. Apart from these actors, there is also a line up of special appearances by Shaneira Akram, activist Muniba Mazari and a cameo by Mahira Khan is also on cards, reported by Gulf News.
