“The Donkey King”, since it’s release back in 2018, has managed to stay in news due to it’s continuous outstanding performance at box office worldwide. Film raked in around 24.5 crore PKR from domestic market and then kept on making it big at box office from different territories in overseas.
The dubbed versions of animated feature has been released in different international markets and film generated around 3 crore PKR from different territories. The major difference, however, has been created by film’s recent release in China. Film was released in two versions, one the Chinese-dubbed version and the other in original Urdu version with Chinese subtitles. It generated $638k (11.3 crore PKR) in China during first week and maintained a decent hold over second weekend as it collected $168k (2.9 crore PKR). Film has so far collected more than $807k (14.2 crore PKR) in ten days.
With these massive numbers from China, film’s overseas business has surpassed the one million milestone. Here’s the breakdown of film’s business in major overseas markets:
