BOX OFFICE: Hollywood Releases Keep Cinema Business Afloat

The expected release of “Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad” has been delayed and there’s no major commercial film announced for release in next few months. Hollywood, therefore, seems to be the only hope for the survival of cinema business. With “Khel Khel Mein” almost exhausted, Hollywood films kept the business afloat through this weekend.

New release “No Time to Die”, according to Box Office Detail,  raked in 95 lacs PKR over it’s opening weekend. These numbers, despite being insignificant for such a huge title, are nevertheless good considering that it had a late release in Pakistan. The Daniel Craig starrer remained first choice of cine-goers over the weekend.

The last week release “F9” collected 26 lacs PKR over it’s second weekend. The 9th instalment from “Fast and Furious” franchise had collected 1.1 crore PKR during first week and it’s ten days total now stands at 1.36 crore PKR.

All recently released Hollywood titles couldn’t generate business to their full potential due to late release. All eyes are now on “Spider-Man: No Way Home” as it will release in Pakistan on the same day of it’s international release
