“Music is One Major Reason Why I Did This Project”: Junaid Khan on “Kahay Dil Jidhar

Junaid Khan and Mansha Pasha starrer “Kahay Dil Jidhar” is about to release in cinemas this coming Friday. The film marks as debut in a lead role for Junaid Khan who was last seen in a cameo role in “Bin Roye”(2015). We at PakistaniCinema.net got in touch with him to have an insight on KDJ.

On being asked about the experience of working in the film, he sounded quite contended saying: “The experience was very good. I got to attempt things which I could never do on TV. You will see me doing comedy, action and dance.”

Though the film deals with a prevalent issue of drug abuse but its not a dry film, by any means according to him. “You will get to see songs, romance, friendship; you will connect emotionally with it’s characters. It’s an entertainer that has all the elements of a commercial film but all that with a very serious subject.”, said Khan.

Music album of the film offers a variety of songs. Three of the songs are already out and had us impressed. Commenting on the music, Junaid said: “The music is really good. In fact, when I was offered this script the music was already done, I listened to the songs before signing this film and honestly, music was one of the major reasons why I picked up this project.”

Since the recently released films have not been able to live upto their boxoffice expectations, we asked him if he feels concerned about the financial outcome of the film. “Fear is definitely there”, he says, “If I put myself in the shoes of producers then this is not an ideal time to release a film as audiences are still hesitant towards going to cinemas again after such a long break. Nonetheless, we took this courageous step by releasing our film and I hope that with this we are going to pave way for other local films.”

“Kahay Dil Jidhar” releases in cinemas on December 17. We wish the team all the best for the release.
